What is Yoga-CBT (Y-CBT)?
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a well known evidenced-based approach to manage anxiety. CBT impacts the way you think and respond to stress. CBT strategies help you to replace negative thoughts with new more balanced thoughts which can reduce symptoms of anxiety and stress.
- Yoga (physical postures, conscious breathing and meditation) targets your physical and psychological response to stress.
- When you combine yoga and CBT, known as Y-CBT, you target both the body and the mind, which helps you deal more effectively with life’s challenges. Research has demonstrated that Y-CBT can improve anxiety, depression, panic, sleep, and quality of life*.
- Y-CBT is accessible to everyone. No special clothing or equipment is required. The yoga involves gentle movements, conscious breathing exercises and meditation, which are all done while seated in a chair.

Y-CBT Group Course Details
The course runs every Thursday evening for 6 weeks starting October 3, 2019 from 7:00-8:30pm.Please arrive 15 minutes before start time to get settled.
Held at Newlife Fertility Clinic at 4250 Sherwoodtowne Blvd, Mississauga, Ontario, L4Z 2G6.
General Cost is $600 pp*Early Bird is $550*(Register before September 1st)Fees may be covered by Extended Health Care Benefit Plans that cover Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Psychotherapist.

Colette Barras MSW RSW
Social Worker
Colette has been providing therapy to individuals and couples for the past 20 years. Specifically to those experiencing infertility, and people who are feeling anxious or depressed. She has her Masters Degree in Social Work, training in CBT, DBT, Yoga-CBT for Anxiety, Mindfulness/Meditation, and is a Certified Yoga Instructor.
Maria Mangano OT Reg.(Ont.)
Occupational Therapist
Maria is a Registered Occupational Therapist who has been supporting individuals with mental health issues for 15 years. Maria has training in Yoga-CBT, CBT, Mindfulness-based therapies, DBT and she is a certified Yoga teacher.
Maria’s gift is her ability to build therapeutic rapport with her clients and her passion is to support people to overcome barriers to leading a purposeful and meaningful life.
